The Company’s history goes back more than half a century. Dawood Lawrencepur Limited was formed in 2004 through the amalgamation of Lawrencepur Woollen and Textile Mills Limited, Dawood Cotton Mills Limited, Burewala Textile Mills Limited and Dilon Limited. Each of these companies had stood for tradition and quality in Pakistan’s textile industry for decades. Bringing them together under one name created a stronger platform for the benefit of its customers, shareholders, employees and other stakeholders.

As the textile sector became more challenging, DLL looked for new areas of growth. In 2008, the Company acquired a wind power project, its first step into alternative energy. That project became Tenaga Generasi Limited, a 49.5 MW wind power plant and a subsidiary of DLL, which has supplied clean electricity to the national grid for several years. DLL’s commitment to sustainable development and renewable energy continues to guide its investment approach today.

In the next major step in its journey, DLL merged with two other Dawood Group companies, DH Partners Limited and Cyan Limited. DH Partners Limited was formed under a Scheme of Arrangement with Dawood Hercules Corporation Limited (now Engro Holdings Limited) and Engro Corporation Limited and was listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange in February 2025. Cyan Limited was a listed investment company of the Dawood Group with a portfolio of listed equities and other investments. All three companies did similar work and were managed under a common vision. The merger therefore brought them into a single, larger and more efficient listed platform.

Under a Scheme of Arrangement sanctioned by the Islamabad High Court, DH Partners Limited and Cyan Limited were amalgamated into Dawood Lawrencepur Limited with effect from January 1, 2026. The shareholders of both companies received DLL shares in exchange. The merger has given DLL a larger equity base, a more diversified asset portfolio, better financial strength and borrowing capacity, simpler governance, and lower administrative and regulatory costs.
